🚀 The Race to 1,000! Help Launch the Wonderful Traveling Farmer’s Market

We’re building something exciting here in Walton County—and you can help make it a reality.

The Wonderful Traveling Farmer’s Market is taking shape, and now we’re entering a critical phase: collecting 1,000 Customer Surveys by August 25, 2025. This milestone will help us move from concept to action—and show that our community is ready.

Why 1,000 Surveys?

Every survey completed brings us closer to a market that truly reflects Walton County. Here’s why your input matters:

  • 🎯 Helps us focus on what the community actually needs

  • 📨 Gets you into the official communication loop for future updates

  • 🛒 Builds our customer list, which will be essential when the market launches and builds interest from producers

As of July 25, we’ve received over 150 Customer Surveys. That’s a strong start—but reaching 1,000 will demonstrate real momentum and help attract producers to join the program.

Community Energy Is Already Building

On July 22, we hosted our first community meeting for the Wonderful Traveling Farmer’s Market at the Walton County Economic Development Alliance office. Over 40 community members attended, including producers, residents, and local partners.

Presenters included:

  • Sommer Adams, Frost Lane Farms

  • Dave Underwood, Wonderful Walton

  • Uriah Matthews, Executive Director, Wonderful Walton

We discussed:

  • Our strategic focus on agriculture

  • Why we’re prioritizing customer demand

  • Insights from our study of Red Hills Online Market

  • The proposed market model

  • Formation of a community steering committee to guide the project

The feedback was enthusiastic, insightful, and is already shaping our next steps.

What Happens Next?

Survey collection is continuing through this critical phase, and your participation is key. If you want to be involved completing this survey ensures you stay in the loop!

Survey respondents will soon receive email communications from our team regarding the formation of a steering committee to help move this project forward. Not everyone will serve on the committee, but everyone who responds will remain an important part of the feedback and engagement process.

This market is for the community—built with the community.

Be Part of Something Wonderful

Whether you're a customer, a producer, or simply a local supporter of fresh food access—your voice matters.

📢 Take the survey. Share the survey. Invite others to be part of the process.
Together, we can build a stronger local food network for Walton County.

Let’s reach 1,000 together—and build something truly Wonderful.
